Misconduct Flow Chart

When a potential misconduct issue has occured what do you do?  Misconduct is any behaviour or conduct within the employee's control that falls below the standard required by the Company or is not adhering to the Companies policies or rules.

General misconduct is, for example, making personal phone calls during work time or being late for work.  This type of misconduct will usually start with an informal warning, followed by a written warning, leading to a dismissal eventually.  It does not usually warrant a dismissal in the first instance.

Gross misconduct is very serious and will, in most cases, lead to summary dismissal.
